Water shapes daily life across the Gulf and sits at the centre of how people grow food, care for country and plan for the future. Communities across the region have said they want clearer information, simpler guidance, and a better shared understanding of how water can be used and traded. As demand changes and new opportunities emerge, having this foundation becomes essential for any future water market.
The Gulf Water Trading Simulation Tool is an early step in building this foundation. It gives producers, landholders, Indigenous communities and government Agri-advisers a practical way to see how water trading could work under real rules and local conditions. By showing how water moves through the system and how choices shift across the landscape, the tool helps users build confidence, ask informed questions and provide a pathway to contribute to the design of a transparent and trusted water trading scheme for the Gulf.
